Meet the family team

The Norfolk Sofa Factory is very much a family concern.

Mark Mills

Sports fanatic

MARK Mills, now 38 years old, lives in King's Lynn with his wife, Angela, and two children, Emily and Annalise. He is a sport fanatic and in particular enjoys rugby, hockey and football, being a Life Member at West Norfolk Rugby Club and an active playing member at the Pelicans Hockey Club. "I really love the team aspect of playing sport on a Saturday afternoon." Additionally, Mark is a school governor at the local junior school. Barbara Taylor, known affectionately by customers as "Mark's Mum," retired to Norfolk last year after the sudden death of her husband, Michael. She and Michael owned and operated a number of extremely successful pubs and hotels in Mid Wales and, fittingly, ended this with the accolade of Welsh Pub of the Year in 2005.

Old-fashioned values

MARK and Barbara believe the key to building a successful furniture retail operation is good old-fashioned values. "We deliver to a specific time on a specific day agreed with the customer, rather than a morning or afternoon delivery like most organisations," says Barbara. "Additionally I feel our customers enjoy the ability to walk around here without a pushy salesperson sitting on their shoulder trying to obtain a sale."

"For me, it's all about the value - we never have a sale here. Anyone can have a half price sale if you inflate the price in the first place!! "I believe in selling the products at the best price in the first place, and as a factory shop, I genuinely believe we offer fantastic value." says Mark. "Our key values are, respect, curtesy, leaving the customer to browse in peace, delivery to suit the customer, product value, quality of product and ensuring our customers enjoy their experience of buying from us." Why not come and have a look around" Mark and his Mum would be delighted to see you, and you'll be amazed at the vast choice and variety on offer.
